Why did I join SLG?
At Texas State I was approached with the idea of re-starting the Sigma Lambda Gamma chapter previously started (but sadly dissintegrated) years back. After going to interest group meetings and learning more about SLG's principles and meeting other interest members, I was sold! I loved what the Gammas stood for and I thought it was EXACTLY what Texas State needed: a multicultural, intelligent, spirited, motivated group of leaders that could maintain involvement accross campus as well as nation-wide. It was another opportunity for girls such as myself (hispanic, self-motivated, willing to learn from and help the community) to prosper. SLG provided a support system for me and opened a door for endless opportunities and ties for current and future use! Where else can you find that? I am so proud to say that my decision to be a "Pheonix" founder is one of the reasons SLG is going strong at Texas State today.
