Why did I join SLG?
Growing up in a very small and conservative town in the Texas Hill Country was an experience I will never forget, but nothing has changed my life more than moving to Houston, TX and becoming part of Sigma Lambda Gamma. I joined Sigma Lambda Gamma not only to find a niche for comfort and friendship, but also to help me grow as an individual and in turn help others. High school was always a busy time for me with extracurricular activities, and I didn’t want college to be any different. SLG holds principles that I have always believed in and worked to uphold. Even before pledging I had a deep feeling that this experience and organization was going to be special. By joining SLG I not only want to teach others about my culture and experiences, but also learn from others and do my part to help strengthen the image of strong balanced women that are capable of getting an education and still contribute to society. |
